STEPHENVILLE Cst. Ryan Meko of the Bay St. George RCMP said the two bodies found in a cabin in Southwest Brook on Monday morning were that of a 67-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman.
But he was tight-lipped on providing much more information on the sudden deaths, other than to say there is no concern for public safety for people in the area.
Meko couldn’t provide any details of whether there was a weapon used, how police were alerted to the incident or how long police will be continuing their investigation, other to say “as long as it takes.”
The RCMP major crime unit and the forensic identification section out of Corner Brook are assisting the Bay St. George RCMP with the investigation into the deaths.
He expects further details would be released after autopsies have been performed in St. John’s on Wednesday.
