CORNER BROOK The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary laid several charges against a 17-year-old Benoit’s Cove boy following a complaint of a four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle being driven in the area Killick Place Friday night.
Police received the report at approximately 11:50 p.m. Two people were said to be involved.
The ATV was located and stopped on Main Street in Mount Moriah.
The 17-year-old was driving the vehicle and was charged under the All Terrain Vehicle Act for operating an ATV with a passenger, operating an ATV with inadequate lights, operating an ATV without a helmet, operating an ATV on a highway, driving an ATV under 19 years old without an insurance policy in effect, driving without a licence and operating an ATV without a valid registration. The ATV was seized by police and impounded.
The 16-year-old passenger was arrested for underage drinking. He was processed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and turned over to his parents.
