Greenwood Inn and Suites staff and management have reached a new contract agreement.
CORNER BROOK After months of tough negotiations between staff and management of the Greenwood Inn and Suites in Corner Brook, a new contract agreement has been struck.
With a strike mandate passed Sunday, after the latest tentative agreement was rejected by the general service workers, the negotiatioing committee and Fortis representatives got back to the table Thursday. After being without a contract since March, a new deal was finally agreed upon late in the evening.
There was a plan for a job action Thursday morning at the hotel, but it was deferred as negotiations resumed. A deadline of Friday at 6 a.m. was put in place by staff. All that was avoided when the new deal was put in place.
