The general public is invited to a town hall meeting at the Royal Canadian Legion in Corner Brook on Wednesday aimed at drumming up support for a campaign to keep to city's Veterans Affairs office open.
The city office is one of nine across the country slated for closure.
Local veterans and frontline workers were in Ottawa last week for the launch of a YouTube video about why the federal government should not close the offices.
Those veterans and union members will be working together to lobby members of parliament to keep the offices open.
The town hall meeting will get underway at 6:30 p.m. Legion president Matthew Connolly and Public Service Alliance of Canada representatives Darren Compton, Tanya Jones and Angela Decker will be present.
Participants will have the opportunity to view the video, hear from veterans and union members and to get involved in the campaign.
