A 23-year-old Humber Village man was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking during last week's Operation Impact.
On Oct. 11, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and Royal Canadian Mounted Police Joint Forces Operation Street Level Drug Team, with assistance from RNC patrol officers, conducted a search of a vehicle under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The vehicle had been stopped by police at an Operation Impact roadside checkpoint.
During the search police seized a quantity of drugs, including what is believed to be 255 grams of uncut cocaine, 116 grams of hashish and 1,135 grams of marijuana.
A subsequent search of a residence in Humber Village by the RCMP Federal Operations West resulted in the seizure of additional drugs and a quantity of cash.
The man appeared in provincial court over the weekend and was released to reappear at a later date.
