CORNER BROOK The Corner Brook Fire Department finally has a new pumper truck.
The vehicle, built by Camions Carl Thibault of Pierreville, Quebec arrived in the city on Sunday.
Funding for the truck was announced in April 2011, but tailoring a truck to suit the hilly terrain of the city led to a number of delays in getting it built.
The contract for the truck was awarded last November and had a projected cost of $429,230.50. From the date of the tender award it took about nine months to build the truck.
