CORNER BROOK A City Tire and Auto Centre employee was injured while doing a job at Notre Dame Castle Building Centre Thursday.
The Corner Brook RNC responded to the incident, conducted a preliminary investigation and turned the matter over to Occupational Health and Safety. There was nothing criminal involved, according to police.
Const. Scott Mosher said the 49-year-old employee suffered injury to his knee and hand after he was knocked back by some kind of force while inflating a tire on a forklift. Although, unsure exactly what the cause was, he said it was possibly from a tire exploding.
The man was taken to Western Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment, but Mosher had no update on the extent of the injuries.
