UPDATE: Woman arrested in Corner Brook for impaired driving

CORNER BROOK  A 19-year-old Bay of Islands woman was arrested for allegedly driving while impaired in Corner Brook Monday.

Police on patrol saw a vehicle being driven erratically in the Caribou Road area at about 1:30 a.m. THe driver was stopped, and subsequently charged with failing the breathalyzer and operating a vehicle while having a blood-alcohol level of over 80 mg/100 millilitres.

She was released from police custody to appear in provincial court at a later date.

The RNC is advising motorists it is increasing patrols in an effort to reduce impaired driving during the holiday season. Police are also encouraging people to report unsafe or illegal driving.

    NLLCC should start a stamp card program....one stamp for each bottle, another for each DUI arrest. Any combo of ten stamps gets you 5 cents a litre on a fill-up at Ultramar.
