A view from Western Memorial Regional Hospital this morning.

Many schools are either closed or have delayed openings in western Newfoundland due to the dump of snow Sunday night.

Today, Environment Canada has continued storm and blowing snow warnings for Bonavista, Clarenville, central, western and northern regions of the island. There's also a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada for more winter weather on Wednesday.

Driving conditions are poor throughout the area with problems prevalant at highway exits. The exit to Corner Brook's Lewin Parkway from the eastbound lane has been blocked by a transport truck and the exit to White's Road near Stephenville has been problematic for drivers.

There's also a snowplow in the ditch of the westbound lane near the Humber Village exit.

Marine Atlantic cancelled its ferry service between Port aux Basques and North Sydney last night and again this morning due to weather conditions.
