CORNER BROOK  A Corner Brook RNC officer was allegedly spit on by a woman on Broadway early this morning.

The officer was in the process of arresting a man for disorderly conduct in the nightclub area of the city at about 3:20 a.m., when a woman continually tried to intercede. She was arrested for attempting to obstruct a police officer and charged with assault in relation to the alleged spitting.

The 31-year-old woman was not believed to be known to the man initially being arrested. She was kept in custody at the lock-up in Deer Lake, and is expected to appear in weekend wash court today. Police said alcohol was a factor in this incident.

David, this one act does not represent Newfoundland. Neither does an anonymous troll who refuses to sign their full name while sniping.
