City crews and residents of St. John's got to work cleaning up the city this Christmas Day after a storm kept the snow piling up throughout the night.

There was no need for anybody in St. John's and other parts of the province to dream of a white Christmas this year. A slow burn of a storm kept plows working through the night and people waking to the task of digging out.

Up here in Ontario they think there is a lot of snow. We would be blocked in for a week up here with what St. Johns gets. I remember all too clearly when i was a youth back in the fifties & sixties
