A transport truck jackknifed partially off the road early Monday evening on the upper part of the Lewin Parkway. Here, a towing crew makes sure everything is in order before pulling the truck from the snowbank and back onto the road.

CORNER BROOK  Driving conditions in some areas throughout western Newfoundland are still treacherous this morning.

The Department of Transportation and Works have issued advisories of caution for the wreckhouse area between Stephenville and Port aux Basques — where there is snow and blowing snow and drifting in areas — and the Burgeo Highway is listed as slippery with drifting in areas and some light snow squalls.

The Marine Atlantic ferries departed both Port aux Basques and North Sydney, N.S. early this morning, but their afternoon arrival times are listed as delayed. The ferry crossings scheduled for late this morning from both ports have been cancelled. Passengers from the 11:45 a.m. crossings will be added to the night sailings.

Flights into and out of Deer Lake airport appear to be going ahead as scheduled.
