STEADY BROOK  Skiers at Marble Mountain will have to stick to the lower slopes today.

According to Marble’s website, www.skimarble.com, a temperature reading of -47 C at the summit, combined with extremely high winds in the area, has resulted in a decision not to open the Governor’s Express and Black Mariah lifts today.

The ski facility opened its Newfie Bullet and Magic Carpet lifts at 11 a.m. to provide skiers with access to the lower slopes.
