Streets throughout Corner Brook have lots of standing water on them.

CORNER BROOK  The City of Corner Brook is asking people not to park on city streets wherever possible to allow for clean up today.

The city streets, which are slushy and icy, will be plowed throughout the day. People are asked to make as much room for the snowclearing equipment as possible by parking off the streets.

With high temperatures and rain continuing, and high winds still forecasted, the city continues to prepare for the possibility of heavy runoff caused by the rain and melting snow.

Sure, why not. The "geniuses" at town hall allow for snow to sit on roads during the weekends to become hardpack. Then, when we get a warm spot, those geniuses send out the plows to push that slush and water logged chunks of snow into people's driveways. By the time we get home from work that stuff will be frozen into ice chunks. Thanks Chuck.

I was keeping the culvert/manhole at the end of my driveway shoveled out all winter, in case of rain and guess what. The plow just shoved over three feet of slush/ice over it. Something wrong with this picture, in my opinion.
