Paramedics prepare to move the woman driver of this white car to a waiting ambulance after a three-vehicle collision on Bayview Heights in Corner Brook Friday afternoon.

CORNER BROOK  Two people were taken to hospital after a three-vehicle collision at the top of Bayview Heights in Corner Brook Friday afternoon.

The accident involved a Mazda 2 car, a small school bus and a Chevrolet Blazer.

The two people taken to hospital included a woman who was in the Mazda and a man in the Blazer.

According to those on the scene, the Mazda was apparently having difficulty negotiating its way up the steep road and struck the bus when the driver of the Mazda tried to make their way back down the road. The Blazer was the third vehicle to become involved.

Bayview Heights was snow-covered and quite slippery at the time of the accident, as evident by the number of cars further down at the bottom of the hill trying in vain to get up the road.

There was no word as of press time regarding the condition of the people taken to hospital, though there was no indication their injuries were life-threatening.

I am just glad the kids on the bus were all ok. They must have all been shoken up. Special Needs children taking the bus, such a sin. It can happen to anyone but wow. I know all the kiddies on the bus, and I am glad there are ok.

Its not hard to have an accident up here. The road is not properly being maintained.I myself called the city 2x today they sent a sand truck up and and hours later the plow..I no its a bad year with snow and storms and limited people to clean up the streets but EVERYDAY there r more and more accidents..they are concerned about the main roads and forgetting the side roads which if the side RDS aren't maintain makes it a bit difficult to get to the main roads..
