CORNERâ€ˆBROOK The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook was kept busy responding to motor vehicle collisions around the city on Friday as slippery conditions made driving difficult.
The RNC received eight reports of motor vehicle collisions in the 24-hour period that ended at 4 a.m. Saturday morning.
One of those incidents occurred at about 5:10 p.m. Friday when three vehicles collided at the intersection of Oâ€™Connell Drive and the Lewin Parkway. Two people were taken to Western Memorial Regional Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The RNC, Corner Brook Fire Department and paramedics attended the scene. All the vehicles involved sustained extensive damage.
The accident was the second of the day to take place in that area. At around noon police responded to a collision there involving two vehicles. No one was injured, but both vehicles sustained moderate damages.
And at around 3:30 p.m. a collision on Bayview Heights involving a school bus and a car resulted in two people from the car being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
