Deer Lake Coun. Elmo Bingle, who is also the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador western director, spoke at the Humber Joint Council in Reidville on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. Council discussed the impact of local service districts on larger areas, among other issues.

REIDVILLE — Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL) hopes to receive ideas from across the province when it hosts a series of meetings over the next month.

MNL western director Elmo Bingle told the Humber Joint Council during its public meeting Saturday in Reidville, that the ideas of the municipal representatives around the table at the Reidville Community Centre should be represented during the upcoming fiscal framework consultations.

“This is an opportunity to attach your voices, to discuss fiscal issues and service delivery,” said Bingle, who is also a Deer Lake councillor.

“Members need to be vocal, with forward thinking.”

Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador will hold meetings in Grand Falls-Windsor next week and again in Deer Lake at the end of February.
