An investigation is ongoing into the cause of this house fire in Springdale Monday morning.

SPRINGDALE  The RCMP are investigating the cause of a house fire in Springdale early Monday.

The police and the Springdale Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at a home on Elm Street at around 7 a.m.

There were three people inside the house when the fire broke out, said the RCMP, but they all managed to get out unharmed.

The structure was still standing Monday afternoon, but it had sustained extensive damages as a result of the fire.

The police had no few other details when contacted Monday afternoon, including if the people all lived at the home or if they were awakened by the fire.

The RCMP did note the house was located on a narrow, one-way street that had to be closed to traffic for several hours while the fire was being dealt with.
