Newfoundland and Labrador Finance Minister Tom Marshall speaks to reporters in St. John’s on Wednesday. Marshall will be interim premier after the resignation of Kathy Dunderdale.

CORNER BROOK  Interim Premier Tom Marshall will announce his cabinet this afternoon.

A swearing-in ceremony for the cabinet will take place in the Cochrane Room at Government House at 2 p.m.

Marshall took over the premier’s job last week after the unexpected resignation of Kathy Dunerdale, who was Newfoundland and Labrador’s 10th premier.

Marshall has said he will only act as premier until a new leader for the Progressive Conservative party is chosen in about three or four months. The makeup of the new cabinet should give an indication of what members of the PC caucus are interested in the leadership, as Marshall has said anyone with leadership aspirations cannot serve as a minister in his administration.
