N.L. pre-budget consultation sessions

Sessions in Corner Brook and Stephenville will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 12, while sessions in St. John’s have been scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14.

The sessions were originally set for late January, but were postponed until a new finance minister was sworn in after Tom Marshall left the post to become interim premier, on the heels of Kathy Dunderdale’s resignation.

Anyone interested in participating in a pre-budget meeting are requested to register at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting time by phoning 709-729-2944 or by emailing

Here is a suggestion 4 their budget: Increase the prices of beer, mainly 4 the 'stores' benefit, not the governments. Maybe then store owners could hire more workers instead of them having to work there themselves.
