Judge Catherine Allen-Westby granted a request by a provincial Crown attorney and issued an arrest warrant for a man facing multiple fraud charges in provincial court on Tuesday.
When Richard Snow’s matter was called, a check by a sherriff’s officer determined that the man was a no-show.
Legal-aid lawyer Peter Chaffey, who was acting as duty counsel for the day, informed the court that he had no instructions on the matter. He indicated that Snow has missed appointments with legal aid, but that he had been informed that he was required to appear in court.
Snow is facing 13 charges of fraud under $5,000, two of failure to comply with a probation order, one failure to comply with an appearance notice, five failures to comply with conditions of an undertaking or recognizance, one count of theft of a credit card, one count of possessing a stolen credit card and one count of possessing property obtained by crime.
