Fifty-four students in Newfoundland and Labrador have been recognized for academic excellence through the awarding of $57,000 in scholarships from the provincial government to support them in their post-secondary studies.

“I extend congratulations to all students receiving these scholarships,” said Kevin O’Brien, minister of Advanced Education and Skills, in a press release announcing the scholarships.

“This financial assistance will support them in their studies, which will help meet a growing labour demand in Newfoundland and Labrador.

“These scholarships assist students and the province to ensure we have the highly qualified graduates needed for this fast-growing economy.”
