Injured snowmobiler airlifted from Great Harbour Deep

An injured snowmobiler had to be airlifted from Great Harbour Deep after being involved in a collision near a lodge there on Saturday.

The Deer Lake Royal Canadian Mounted Police received a report of the incident late in the afternoon.

Several hours after the incident occurred, a 45-year-old man from Lumsden was airlifted from the area by the Department of National Defence and transported to Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook where he underwent surgery.

 Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
