Mayor Tom O’Brien said the town has snow regulations in place for a purpose and residents need to abide by them.

He made the comment at the regular general meeting of the Stephenville town council Thursday, while reporting on the town receiving a number of calls regarding snow and some residents putting snow on the road.

O’Brien said the municipal enforcement officer has been enforcing these regulations by speaking to residents who the town had received complaints about.

“We’ve even had cases where we had to send plows back to plow the street because there was so much snow deposited back,” he said.

O’Brien said this makes matters even worst because the people who are “down plow” are the ones affected the second time around.

“From a safety standpoint we’re asking residents not to put snow on the road and residents should know the town is aware of this type of activity and has stepped up enforcement on it,” he said.
