A moose halted traffic on the TCH just east of Corner Brook this morning.

Morning commuters along the Trans-Canada Highway between Corner Brook and Steady Brook experienced a bit of delay in their drive just before 9 a.m. today.

A moose was wandering back and forth the highway and getting close to vehicles.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and officials with the Department of Natural Resources were called to the area near the turnoff to Riverside Drive. Traffic in both directions was halted as attempts were made to capture the nuisance animal.

The Department of Natural Resources has been contacted about the incident and is in the process of confirming what action had to be taken with the moose. The Western Star will share that information as soon as it becomes available.
