Katherine Rose, who is in her final year of the psychology program at Grenfell, was the winner of the Arthur M. Sullivan award. The Sullivan Cup is given to a full time student that has contributed most to the quality of student life at Grenfell. This can be achieved through involvement in athletics, student council, and or clubs and societies on campus. The winner must have also maintained an average of not less than 70 per cent

International student Sanja Schuelke, left, of Germany is presented the Lanier Phillips award by Jessica Dawe, vice-president, academics, with the GCSU. The award was established by GCSU International Student Association Caucus in celebration of Black History Month. Lanier Phillips was an African-American Navy officer during a time of racial segregation and in 1942 was shipwrecked off the coast of St. Lawrence. The award is presented to an international student who demonstrates excellent leadership skills as well as advocates on behalf of their peers.

Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland handed out its student recognition awards during a ceremony on Wednesday.
