Police are keeping tight-lipped about details surrounding a death in Felix Cove early Saturday morning.
The RCMP did not release any new information Tuesday.
The Western Star asked who shot the weapon that resulted in a man’s death that morning, the age of the deceased and how many people were in the residence at the time. RCMP Cpl. John Butler would only say police are not prepared to release anything else at this time because the investigation is ongoing.
The only person arrested following the incident was Jasmine Pittman, 20, of Stephenville. She was released from custody with a number of conditions after an appearance in Stephenville Provincial Court on Monday.
Police have charged Pittman with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
While that charge is in relation to the Saturday morning shooting incident in Felix Cove, police have stressed that it was not Pittman who fired the weapon that resulted in the male’s death.
She will return to court on June 9.
Officers responded to a call for assistance at the Felix Cove residence in the early morning hours of Saturday. Upon arrival at the scene, police were advised that a confrontation took place where weapons were used and resulted in the man’s death.
While Butler would not say what type of weapons were used, it’s clear from the police report that the man’s death resulted from the use of a firearm.
