Events are slated all weekend as the 2014 Massey Drive Carnival officially got underway Friday night with opening ceremonies, a lip-sync contest and fireworks.
Festivities continue today, starting with a breakfast at the town hall from 9-11 a.m. The meal includes scrambled eggs, bacon, bologna, pancakes, toast, juice, and tea or coffee. At 12:30 p.m., there will be face painting, a colouring contest and a scavenger hunt for kids, followed by children’s bingo at 2 p.m.
There is a cabbage roll dinner at the town hall at 5 p.m., followed by a dance beginning at 10 p.m., with music by C & E Disco.
Sunday is a family fun day, beginning at 1 p.m. Various activities are planned for children and adults.
On Monday, adult bingo will be held at 8 p.m. at the town hall. Prizes are turkeys, hams and gift cards.
