Precautionary boil order in effect for part of east side of Corner Brook

The City of Corner Brook will be shutting off the water on part of the east side today and putting the area affected under a precautionary boil water advisory.

The area affected includes: Humber Road, numbers 27 to 274 and all side roads on the lower side; Station Road and all side roads; Riverhead Road and all side roads; Riverside Drive and all side roads; Fudges Road, numbers 12 to 22; Washington Street, numbers 2 to 12; Gillett’s Lane, from number 1 to 4; Peddles Lane, numbers 5 to 12; 6 Dingwell’s Lane; 59 Second Avenue; Tipples Lane; Third Avenue, numbers 1 to 8; Keough’s Lane, numbers 1 to 8; Farnell’s Lane and Hillview Road.

The outage is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to last 14 to 16 hours and is necessary to make improvements to the water distribution system.

The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the required testing to confirm water quality in the systems is completed.

    People should have been told before the water was shut off. Not good planning.
