Two St. George’s men are in Provincial Court today charged with breaching court order conditions.
Cst. Burns Anderson said the men, a 21-year-old from St. George’s and a 22-year-old from the Shallop Cove area of that town, were stopped as the result of a driving complaint received at 7:05 p.m. in Stephenville Crossing.
This led to the discovery of the two of them breaching court ordered conditions and being arrested for failing to comply with undertakings, with both having conditions not to associate with anyone with a criminal record.
Anderson said as both had criminal records they had allegedly breached that condition. The 21-year-old also had a curfew of 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. not to be outside his place of residence.
They were held in custody due to both having extensive criminal records, with the 21-year-old having eight outstanding criminal code charges and the 22-year-old having 21 outstanding criminal code charges between 2010 up to the time he was picked up. His charges were from incidents that took place in the Bay St. George area and New Brunswick.
