Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the Wreckhouse area.
Strong southeasterly winds gusting at times to 100 kilometres per hour are expected in the area this morning into early this afternoon. Motorists are being advised to prepare to adjust their driving with changing road conditions due to the high winds.
As for weather conditions in the Port aux Basques area, today will see some drizzle changing to showers in the afternoon. Rainfall amounts of between two and four millimetres are expected. Temperature will fall to zero in the afternoon.
The showers will change to ice pellets and end in the evening when it will clear off. However, there is a risk of freezing rain early in the evening.
Thursday and Friday are looking good with a mix of sun and cloud.
For the Corner Brook area, Environment Canada is forecasting drizzle and showers this morning and then showers for the afternoon. Rainfall accumulation should be around 2 mm.
While the temperature right now is at 12 C it is expected to fall to zero in the afternoon.
There could be some flurries in the early evening and a risk of freezing rain.
For Thursday and Friday the forecast is calling for a mix of sun and cloud with temperatures from O C to 3C.
The Weather Network is forecasting cloudy conditions with showers for the Stephenville area this morning. That will change to light rain in the afternoon will amounts between 2 to 4 mm. The temperatures could go to 10 C this afternoon but will fall below zero overnight.
The rain should move off into the evening and overnight.
