There has been a second mugging this week in the Broadway area of Corner Brook.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is reporting that at about 2:15 a.m. overnight a 44-year-old woman was approached in the Broadway and Herald Avenue area by an adult male. Althought the alleged victim had money forcefully stolen from her, she was not injured, according to police.

The suspect was described as wearing a black coloured "hoodie" style jacket. Attempts to locate him had been unsuccessful at this time. The matter remains under investigation.

Earlier this week, an 82-year-old woman was mugged on Broadway near midnight. The suspect, Veronica Ann Park, is currently in custody and has been charged with theft with violence and breach of recognizance. She is back in court this afternoon.
