Stephenville man charged with theft and breaching undertaking

A 25-year-old Stephenville man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of an undertaking from an incident on Thursday afternoon.

Cst. Ken LaSaga of the Bay St. George RCMP said at 5:18 p.m. while police were out on patrol they noticed an intoxicated man on Queen Street near Wal-Mart Store, with items they believed were stolen from that store.

The man is alleged to have breached an undertaking not to be consuming alcohol. Police made the arrest and the man was later given a court date of July 7.
