Kirby Spence

One of the two men charged in a home invasion in Corner Brook in late January made a brief appearance in provincial court Tuesday morning.

The matters involving Kirby Spence, 19, were set over until July 8 so his lawyer can review the disclosure outlining the case against him.

Spence, along with 33-year-old Andre Lecuyer, was charged with multiple offences in relation to an incident alleged to have taken place in a home on Humber Road on Jan. 31.

The man who lived there said two masked men carrying machetes and bear spray tied him up and robbed him of cash and household items, including electronics.

Spence, who has since been released on bail, was initially charged with robbery with violence, being disguised with intent, break and entry, possession of property obtained through crime and breach of a court order. In court Tuesday, there were 22 offences on the docket, including forcible confinement, more court order breaches, a drug possession charge anda number of traffic violations.

Lecuyer’s matters are also still before the courts.
