The Stephenville Airport Corporation has been approved a grant of $10,000 to offset costs associated with two performances of the Snowbirds aerobatic shows in Stephenville.

Those performances are taking place on June 21 and 22.

Mayor Tom O’Brien said that in addition to the Snowbirds there will be other aircraft carrying out demonstration flights.

Under finance items at last Thursday’s regular meeting, council also approved the town sponsor two score card packages for the 2014 season at Harmon Seaside Links, totaling $300.

Also approved for sponsorship was a four-member team, at a cost of $75 per member, for the Bay St. George Chamber of Commerce 14th Annual Golf Tournament being heldamon Seaside Links.

Council approved accounts payable for April of $184,134.41.

Poll tax write-offs of $164.16; property tax write-offs of $1,203.36; remission of tax of $3,283.24 and refunds of $490.23 were all approved.
