The YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange Program is looking for a few local host families.
The Program is a six-week work placement exchange whereby students age 16-17 from Corner Brook and Stephenville will trade places and live in the home of a student of the same age from Quebec.
Participants will also work with a non-profit organization in each other’s communities.
The program is designed to fully immerse the students in their second language in order to better their second language skills.
There are currently students that have applied for the program but their families are unable to host a student for the six week duration. These students are therefore unable to participate unless they find an alternate host family
The responsibility of the host family is to provide food, shelter and a comfortable place to stay.
