The last of three men arrested last week in connection with an armed robbery in Irishtown-Summerside that was reported in late April will be back in court for the resumption of his bail hearing Thursday morning.
The bail hearing for Craig Clayton Pittman, 34, began before Judge Wayne Gorman in provincial court in Corner Brook Wednesday afternoon, but it did not conclude. It was adjourned to continue Thursday morning.
Pittman was arrested along with Mark George Childs and Allan Sonny Pijogge on June 6 in relation to an incident at the First Stop Convenience Store at around 9:30 p.m. on April 28. According to the police at the time, two men wearing hoodies, dark glasses, hats, gloves and handkerchiefs over their faces entered the store and demanded tobacco and cash. One of the men, said the police, was carrying a weapon.
After leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, they were observed entering a possibly lime green, older model four-door Hyundai Accent.
Crown attorney Brenda Duffy consented to releasing Pijogge, 27, when he appeared in provincial court Monday. Childs, 38, was released from custody after a bail hearing was held Tuesday.
