Stephenville's town council approved a $20,000 interest-free loan to the Adam Piercey Memorial Skate Park Committee to pay for completion of the second phase of the facility.

Mayor Tom O’Brien said the skate park, located near the YMCA and the Caribou Curling Club, has been a success story to date and this phase will provide enhancements.

Coun. Justin House said the more equipment the better to make the park more useable for kids of all ages.
