Woman charged with causing a disturbance at hotel

A 38-year-old Stephenville woman, who police allege was intoxicated, was arrested late Friday night for causing a disturbance in the lobby of Days Inn.

Const. Ryan Meko of the Bay St. George RCMP, said the incident was reported at 11:30 p.m. and the woman was held in custody until Saturday morning and released for a court date on Sept. 29.

Man charged with uttering threats and mischief

The Bay St. George RCMP have arrested a 30-year-old Port au Port East man on Sunday for allegedly making threats against the property of a neighbour was arrested on Sunday for uttering threats and mischief.

He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.

Police investigating theft from senior’s club

Members of the Bay St. George RCMP are investigating a report of break, enter and theft from the 50-Plus Club on Father Joy’s Road.

Const. Ryan Meko said a quantity of cash was taken, but couldn’t say the amount due to an ongoing investigating.

The report was received on Sunday and the break-in is believed to have occurred within the previous 24-hour period.

 

Police investigating bakery theft

Members of the Bay St. George RCMP are investigating a report of a man stealing supplies from Danny’s Bake Shop in Stephenville.

Const. Ryan Meko said the complaint was received by police shortly after 2 p.m. on Sunday, but that the alleged theft had taken place Saturday morning.

Cartyville break and enter under investigation

The Bay St. George RCMP are investigating a report of a break, enter and theft into a cottage in the Cartyville area of Bay St. George South.

Const. Ryan Meko said the complaint was received at 6 p.m. on Sunday, but the theft occurred sometime within the five previous days. A number of tools were stolen.

Woman treated for injuries following collision with moose

A 26-year-old woman, the driver of a car that struck a moose on the Hansen Highway near the intersection with Cold Brook Road on Sunday night, suffered minor injuries.

Const. Ryan Meko of the Bay St. George RCMP said the collision was reported to the Bay St. George RCMP at 11:15 p.m. and the woman was taken to Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital.

The moose was disabled as a result of the accident and had to be euthanized.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage.

Woman charged after allegedly assaulting man

The Bay St. George RCMP have arrested a 32-year-old Port au Port East woman for assault and mischief on Sunday after it was alleged she assaulted a male resident in the community.

There were no injuries from the incident and the woman has a court date set for Sept. 29.
