Rainy forecast for all over as Arthur heads this way

Tropical storm Arthur is expected to intensify to hurricane strength later this morning as is moves northeastward along the U.S. east coast.

Environment Canada is tracking the storm but early this morning said there’s still considerable uncertainty on how the storm will impact the region.

Arthur is expected to affect Atlantic Canada on Saturday.

The storm will bring with it significant wind and rain and Enivronment Canada said significant storm surges and waves are possible for regions south and east of the storm.

Meanwhile, the Corner Brook and Deer Lake areas could see some thundershowers this morning. The high today will be 26 C in the city and 28 in Deer Lake.

For Friday there’s a 60 per cent chance of showers in the forecast and a high 27 C in Corner Brook and 29 in Deer Lake.

And Environment Canada is saying the rain will continue into the weekend and next week with temperatures dropping down a slight bit.

It will be cloud and rain for Port aux Basques today and right on into the weekend. Temperatures there will be around 20 C today, but will drop into the teens over the weekend.

The Weather Network is forecasting some showers for Stephenville today with a temperture at 23 C, however, it will feel more like 30.

The showers will continue on Friday and the weekend forecast calls for rain and more rain. The temperture Friday should go to 26 C, but it will cool a bit over the weekend.

Rocky Harbour will see some light rain today with a temperature of 23 C, although it will also feel more like 30 there.

Showers and rain are the order of the day for Friday and moving into the weekend.
