Missing man located unhurt
A 46-year-old Stephenville Crossing man who was reported missing late Monday night was found early Tuesday.
Cpl. John Butler of the Bay St. George RCMP said a report was received at 11:13 p.m. on Monday that the man had not yet returned home from a work project he had been doing in the Spruce Brook area.
He said an investigation revealed the male, who had been drinking, was involved in an argument with co-workers and exited the vehicle he was in as they were headed home.
The man was located unhurt at 5 a.m. Tuesday by police after he had spent some time walking trails and roads in an attempt to make his way back to Stephenville Crossing.
RCMP investigating illegal dumping complaint
Members of the Bay St. George RCMP are investigating a report of illegal dumping in Port au Port East.
A resident reported late Monday morning of finding a stove dumped in a wooded area that wasn’t at that location on the weekend.
Money stolen from cash box
The Bay St. George RCMP is investigating a report received Monday at noon of a break and enter into a business on St. George’s Avenue in Stephenville.
Cpl. John Butler said entry into the building was through the rear door and occurred between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning.
A small amount of cash was taken from a cash box inside the business.
Attempted theft under investigation
The Bay St. George RCMP is investigating a report from Warm Brook Apartments on Montana Drive in Stephenville of attempted theft.
On Monday afternoon, the manager of the apartment complex reported that several youth entered the building and unsuccessfully attempted to get money from coin operated laundry machines.
