A provincial court judge will render her decision on whether Mark Thompson will stand trial for impaired driving causing bodily harm next month.

A three-day preliminary inquiry wrapped up in court in Corner Brook on Thursday. The hearing was presided over by Judge Catherine Allen-Westby.

The charge against Thompson was laid following an April 2013 motor-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Little Rapids.

Thompson and a female passenger were injured in the crash.

Besides the impaired driving charge, Thompson is also facing charges of impaired operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm by exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood and a charge of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.

Allen-Westby will deliver her decision at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 27.
