Man seriously injured after being struck in parking lot

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is looking for a witnesses to assist in thier investigation into a pedestrian-vehicle collision in Corner Brook on Tuesday.

Police responded to the incident in the parking lot of Colemans on Caribou Road at 2:30 p.m. A 72-year-old man was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the parking lot.

The man sustained serious injuries and was transported from the scene to Western Memorial Regional Hospital by ambulance. Police say the man was still in hospital as of Tuesday evening.

The RNC’s collision analyst is investigating, however speed and impairment have been ruled out as factors.

    It was only a matter of time before someone was seriously hurt there. The cross walk is not the problem. There is never a police officer to be seen in Corner Brook.There is no direction going into and out of the Colemans parking lot. People drive in all directions. Colemans should of addressed that years ago. I don't even bother getting groceries their anymore.
