A 26-year-old Corner Brook woman was charged on Tuesday under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a summary offence ticket for failing to obey a stop sign.

This ticket resulted from an investigation into an accident on Aug. 11 at approximately 5 p.m. when RNC Patrol Services, with the assistance from the Corner Brook Fire Department and Western Health Paramedics, responded to a vehicle-motorcycle accident at the intersection of Wellington Street and Mount Bernard Avenue.

The motorcycle involved in the accident sustained extensive damages and the driver of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old resident of Mount Moriah sustained what is believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.

He was brought to Western Memorial Regional Hospital and remains there for treatment.
