DEER LAKE Police say a fire that broke out on an RV camper Wednesday on the Trans-Canada Highway was most likely electrical in nature.
The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was driving eastbound when police say he smelled smoke and pulled over about three kilometres past the Howley exit. He was not injured.
A fire crew was called out from Deer Lake to the incident but police say the fire had spread so quickly it was not possible to save the vehicle. The 1992 Ford camper was almost completely destroyed by fire but police are not saying yet which part of the vehicle was the ignition source.
The investigation will continue.
