A subscriber called in recently to remind pedestrians to use crosswalks.
She said all over the city people are jay walking and it causes a hazard for both drivers and pedestrians. She said she was almost in an accident going through Margaret Bowater Park when a truck in front of her suddenly stopped to allow someone to cross the road by the bridge.
The woman said three vehicles almost rear-ended one another in their efforts to stop.
A caller to the Roamer said the situation in Irishtown-Summerside in relation to concerns over the recent municipal election is providing people who have issues with the province’s Municipal Elections Act the prime opportunity to push for changes.
He also said the new Municipal Affairs minister may be open to making changes. He, for one, feels there should be changes.
