A driver says he called the Roamer to advise Wayne Bennett to have his campaign signs removed from the section of the Trans-Canada Highway between Corner Brook and Steady Brook.
“It’s bad enough to have these things stuck up everywhere when there is an election called, but we are a long way from that.
“Now that Frank Coleman has walked away, we may even make it to the original October 2015 date set by legislation the way things are going,” the caller said.
A woman called last week to say hats off to the person who phoned the Roamer about the treatment she gets from the medical system.
“Doctors don’t do what they used to,” she said.
“They used to make house calls and I find that now they can’t be counted on to see you if you are in hospital. Someone else who has no knowledge of your history often looks at you.
“It’s too much to expect for seniors to keep going back and forth for medical appointments by cab when one visit would do,” she said.
“It’s time someone looked into the medical profession,” the caller said.
Another reader says it seems like drivers talking on cellphones is picking up again.
He says he sees it happening every time he heads out on an errand or to go to work.
“What use is the law if it isn’t going to be enforced? These people don’t even try to hide their phones.
“They have no fear of being caught and ticketed,” he said
