A woman called last week about the plans to build a dog park in Corner Brook.
“We don’t need a dog park in the city,” she said.
“We have too many dogs around.
“Young people don’t have children anymore they have dogs to protect them instead. That’s what’s going on.
“We don’t need a dog park.”
A Corner Brook driver says he may be mistaken, but he’s pretty sure he saw another driver earlier this week buzzing along O’Connell Drive with a tablet propped up against his steering wheel.
“I’ve seen drivers doing some goofy things in my time, but I think this takes the cake,” he said.
Another driver says he wishes the city would get the lines painted on patched parts of city streets sooner.
“Work has been finished on a section near Humber Park for a couple of days and there are still no lines replaced for the crosswalk there.
“That area is dangerous enough for pedestrians when there are lines on the road but it’s really perilous now,” he said.
A Corner Brook man says he’s seen heavy equipment parked in a couple residential neighbourhoods around the city lately.
“I thought there was a bylaw that prevented these big trucks from doing that,” he said.
“Don’t the city cops or other officials see these things?”
