Mud town

Dear Editor: Snowclearing in Deer Lake at an all-time low.

All our streets are full of mud. Is there a shortage of salt, or is it cheaper to use mud?

What a mess in stores, post office and all other buildings. People talk about it but do not try to get it corrected.

With the price of gas and repairs, I figure it would be less expensive to use more salt. Using the mud you have to make extra trips.  When you mix mud and salt — mud 95 per cent and salt five per cent — you have to make a mess and it’s hard on us old fellows to shovel it.

I cannot use my snowblower because it plugs up (the snow is too heavy). Oh, watch out for your lawns and fences this spring.
