Dear Editor: I agree 100 per cent with Paul Seaward’s letter to the editor on Dec. 11.
Remembrance Square, the centerpiece of our city, should not be a site for neon orange signs and plywood covered fountains.
It is a place of great respect, a place to reflect and honour our veterans — past and present.
Since Seaward wrote the letter, the signs, etc., have been taken down.
I give credit to the mayor for this move but I give more credit to the letter’s author.
However, I hope the same eyesore does not reappear in the early spring. Our Remembrance Square is beautiful ... let’s keep it that way.
Pat Taylor, Corner Brook
